I'm on record saying that not only will the Indians be the HRL champions but they will be so dominating that they will finish ranked number one at the end of the year in the NWLA rankings. This team is that good. The depth is unbelievable.
1. CJ: He has made the NWLA National First Team for Pitchers in 2006 and 2009. In four seasons (All with the Indians), he has amassed a 35-10 record with an incredible ERA of 1.24. Clearly an ace on a team with an abundance of great pitching. He is among the top 5 in all-time strikeouts in the HRL. He can also hit by clubbing 38 homeruns and batting. 278 for his career.
2. Molgs: He has hit 124 HRs coming into the 2010 season which puts him in the Top 5 in career homers in the HRL. In five seasons (All with the Indians) he has a career average of .327. he can more than hold his own on the mound with a career record of 25-16 and a 3.22 ERA.
3. T-Bag: Another monster bat. Combine him with Molgs and you have a deadly one-two punch in the lineup. T-Bag, who has played all five of his seasons with the Tribe, has destroyed HRL pitching with 96 career HRS and an uncanny .363 average. With so many great arms on the staff, T-Bag's pitching (12-9 with a 2.62 ERA) may not be needed as much.
4. Siebs: A former Tiger (along with Doc) has latched onto the Indians. Solid hitter with 69 homers and a .269 average. He should be another asset to the lineup. He has won a Wiffy Award in 2009 for Best Closer. He has 13 career saves to go with his stellar pitching resume of a win-loss record of 24-8 with a 2.07 ERA.
5. Bork: Another five season Tribe member. Bork makes his presence felt in the batter's box. He has 58 homers while batting a modest .243 for his career . However he has hit over .300 the last couple of seasons. Odds are high that trend of hitting over .300 will continue for 2010.
6. Doc: This is his first season as an Indian. After spending four seasons with the Tigers, Doc has joined an already stacked team. He is well rounded player. He made the NWLA National Second Team for Hitters in 2007 and the NWLA National First Team for Pitchers in 2006. He has also won a Wiffy Award in 2007 for Best Closer. He has an incredible career record of 31-5 while sporting a career ERA of 1.04. Literally unstoppable. On top of that he has 82 dingers and a .317 career average. If Doc retains his old form and plays a good portion of games this year, look out HRL.
7.Saves: Starting Rotation shouldn't be a problem. However, this Indians may have the best relief corp ever. They have six pitchers who have a combine 33 career saves. Two of their pitchers have won a Wiffy for Best Closer.
8. Taint Bar: The Indians have set up an area between fields called the Taint Bar where players can loosen themselves with an alcoholic beverage. The Taint Bar has been rumored to add at least 10 wins to the overall record of the Tribe each season.
9. Weak Division: The Eagan East. This division features the Cubs, Marlins, Mets and Cubs are the four teams in the Indians division this season. These four teams went a combined 53-96. None of the teams were even remotely close to a .500 record. However the four teams have made some concessions to improving for 2010. The Colt 45's went a long way in the playoffs last year and could use this momentum going into the 2010 season. The Mets won the Truck sweepstakes. The Cubs have the new league commish on their team. And the Marlins lost Gusto. |
