This free-swinging hitter was a constant hustler and played his heart out in the field. One claim to fame was his trademark “helicopter” swing. He had a great bat and got on base a lot. He made some terrific catches in the outfield. He is the only player to cleanly stop a groundball with his thighs (this created a rule change) and catch a ball with his armpits (twice). He won three Bronze Gloves to show for it. His pitching was mediocre but he had great control and wouldn't walk many batters. David won the Hustle award two times in a row in 2000 and 2001. David's long term commitment, hustle and desire to play as long as anyone else on the field makes David a worthy candidate for the wiffleball Hall of Fame.
